Service Colleagues: Technicians & Drivers
We are the experts in our industries and for our service colleagues; no two days are ever the same! Our technicians and drivers are the main customer contact point within their area delivering a range of services. At Rentokil Initial we recognise that our frontline colleagues are the face of our business who are required to provide world class customer service. We also closely support our drivers who enjoy being out on the road and working closely with customers and independently rather than in a large team. As a result we pride ourselves on recruiting the right people, training them properly whilst providing them with fantastic opportunities.
Your day will involve driving a company vehicle on different routes; some will be residential, some commercial or you may be on a blended route. Whatever route you’re on you’ll get to interact with a wide range of customers and have the opportunity to be a proud Rentokil Initial ambassador! Many of your customer sites might be quite large (especially on the commercial routes) so there is a certain level of fitness required for our service drivers; especially if you are dropping off or servicing a large number of products for each customer.
You will be part of a small team, but for the majority of the time, you’ll be working independently either in your van or at customer sites. Our customers expect the best. Many of the visits we carry out are planned ‘routine’ calls but sometimes our customer’s needs can be an emergency where a rapid response is required. In these situations we will sometimes require our technicians to work on weekends and public holidays.

For our service colleagues, technicians are sometimes required to work with potentially dangerous chemicals or in challenging environments. For our drivers we recognise that driving can sometimes be tricky and tiring. Don’t worry! We provide extensive Health & Safety and technical training to all our colleagues. Some of the training is conducted face to face, but we also have our online university where you can refresh your knowledge at any time. Health & Safety is our priority to ensure that everyone goes home safe.
Our Sales colleagues are crucial to the continued growth of our business, building trusting relationships with our customers to drive Rentokil Initial forward. Our Sales colleagues know all you would need to know about our products and services, and ensure our customers needs are met.
You will be part of a small team, but for the majority of the time you’ll be working independently or busy with customers. Our customers are hugely important to us - you will need to make them feel valued during each visit or phone call! When you first join Rentokil Initial, you will complete an induction programme where you will be trained up to be our expert out in the field. You will build up your knowledge on our products, services and wider organisation. Some of this training will be face to face but we also have our online university where you can refresh your knowledge on our products or your selling skills at any time!
We’re passionate about delivering excellent customer service! Our focus is always on the customer and how best we can serve the huge variety of customers that we have across our businesses. Often our customers are with us for years, so our customer service agents (who are the first point of contact) will often build relationships with them! Due to the wide range of customers, you will be faced with a variety of calls on a daily basis with no two days the same!
Our customer service colleagues are required to answer calls to sometimes distressed customers. You must be empathetic to all customers, even on a bad day you must remain courteous and knowledgeable to all customers that contact us. Our customer service teams across the world are expected to be up to date with all of our latest products and services. When you first join Rentokil Initial, you will complete an induction programme where you will be trained up on everything you need to know to provide that world class customer service! Some of this training will be face to face but we also have our online university where you can refresh your knowledge or learn about new products!
