Personal responsibility.
You are expected to finish your job (for instance a route of customer visits) but you often work on your own - your manager is not standing over you. For those people with route-based roles - you are responsible for your route - we will assist and support but you get to know your area and get a lot of input on how best to service your customers.

As well as improving the diversity of our Board, over the last few years we have taken a number of steps to improve diversity and inclusion levels throughout Rentokil Initial.
The female population of our senior leadership team has increased year on year since 2016.
We have focused extensively on developing talented women in Rentokil Initial and focussed on supporting the career development of talented women across the business.
In 2020, we again reported that we have no gender pay gap in our UK-based business
Through our global internal employee satisfaction survey, the vast majority do not feel that we preclude men and women from having equal opportunities to succeed in Rentokil Initial. We will continue to report on this alongside the launch our first dedicated DE&I survey.

Each of our roles has a career path to provide you with additional earning potential.
As an example, here’s our four-tier grading structure for a Hygiene technician.
Rookie Technician – in training
Technician Level 1 – undertakes service routes alone
Technician Level 2 – is able to install products on customer sites; additional earning potential – has committed to overtime where necessary
Technician Level 3 – is able to install products on customer sites; additional earning potential – cover relief routes
Training and development
Rentokil Initial offers a wide range of training and development programmes to enhance the skills of its colleagues.
U+ is our in-house learning and development ‘university’. It delivers programmes through various channels, including online courses via the U+ portal; face to face and team-based programmes. Over 300 courses and videos are added each year by our in-house team around topics such as sales, technical and operational best practice.
As an example of our training capability, just one of our country operations delivered over 3,000 days of technical training last year.
