1 x Procurement/SCM Intern (12 month fixed term contract) , Claremont-WC

An opportunity for a newly qualified graduate to support:

We are recruiting a newly graduated Procurement & Supply Chain Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in procurement, supplier management, and logistics. The intern will support daily procurement activities, assist in optimizing supply chain processes, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in procurement and supply chain management.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to be registered and complete a company-selected and SETA-approved learnership.

Requirements:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement/SCM Intern

• Assist in purchasing and procurement activities, including query resolutions.
• Support supplier management, including evaluating vendor performance and maintaining supplier records.
• Support B-BBBE verification process.
• Facilitate Inter-Branch collaborative processes.
• Conduct market research on suppliers, pricing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in inventory management, ensuring accurate stock records and tracking critical sku supplies.
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Assist in coordinating logistics and transportation of goods and related queries.
• Prepare reports and presentations related to procurement performance and supply chain efficiency.
• Support the team in contract negotiations and tender processes.
• Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement and supply chain operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, SAP, Oracle) is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
