IoT Test Lead

This is a hands-on role and the candidate will be expected to perform testing as well as be responsible for the process and on-going improvement of the testing function within the IoT platform.

1. Provides expert technical knowledge in the system testing of platform specific versions of the hardware and software product(s), documenting faults, implementing resolutions and retesting to agreed standards. Reports the outcome of the testing and highlights potential improvements to the process. This is to cover both manual and automated testing.

2. Leads the scrum team in the configuration of software and equipment for the systems testing of platform specific versions of one or more hardware/software product(s) and documents relevant details to agreed standards.

3. Provides expert technical knowledge in the system testing of platform specific versions of the software product(s), documenting faults, implementing resolutions and retesting to agreed standards. Reports the outcome of the testing and highlights potential improvements to the process.

4. Provides specialist guidance to systems testing and quality assurance functions to assist in the development of more effective systems testing and quality assurance procedures.

5. Takes responsibility for the management of the testing activities within a development project. Plans or oversees the planning of the system and acceptance tests and co-ordinates the execution of these plans. Takes responsibility for early life-cycle validation and verification. Takes responsibility for the production and approval of testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones during a project.

6. Directs and carries out investigations to assess and advise on the practicality of testing process alternatives. Identifies improvements to the process and assists in their implementation.

7. Provides authoritative advice and guidance to colleagues on any aspect of test planning and execution.

Requirements:

Qualifications required : Scrum / Agile qualifications SaFe, ITSQB-BCS Advanced Test Manager BCS ITSQB-BCS Advanced Technical Test Analyst

You should be proficient in the application of automated systems to the support of specific business functions or processes. Increasingly a DEVOPS approach is taken where development and operational staff work together. Examples: enterprise resource planning, sales forecasting, airline reservations, Bank trading systems, Utilities Monitoring Smart City.

You should be proficient in techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation. Examples: business environment analysis, business perspectives, functional business models, business driven development, process modelling, stakeholder analysis, relational data modelling, use case modelling, statistical process control, use cases, user stories, Scrum, process mapping, benefits mapping.
