Regional Operations Manager
Target Specialty Products is a leading North American distributor of pest control, turf and ornamental solutions, application equipment, and supplies. Target Specialty Products is seeking a strategic and experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee operations with multiple branches/ warehouses across Canada. The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, consistency, and productivity at each site while maintaining high standards of customer order fulfillment and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a leader who can drive operational excellence, manage a diverse team across multiple locations, and align regional goals with broader company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
● Multi-Site Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of 5 branch warehouses (Pitt Meadows BC, Calgary AB, Montreal QC, Putnam ON and Burlington ON), ensuring that each location meets its operational, financial, and service-level goals.
● Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) across all locations, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, labour productivity, and customer satisfaction. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
● Team Development and Supervision: Manage and mentor branch and warehouse managers, providing guidance and support to drive performance improvements, employee development, and operational consistency across the region.
● Operational Oversight: Ensure that all locations follow company policies and best practices related to inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and customer service.
● Process Standardization and Improvement: Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all regional sites to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Identify areas for operational improvements and develop strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
● Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with WHIMIS standards, safety protocols, and company policies at all regional locations. Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure that all employees are trained and compliant with safety guidelines.
● Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage operational budgets for all locations within the region, controlling costs while achieving operational and financial targets. Provide input into capital expenditure plans and resource allocation.
● Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer concerns, improve service quality, and ensure that customer expectations are consistently met across all branches or warehouses.
●Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with sales to understand the line of businesses and the competitive nature of the marketplaces we service . Additionally, work regularly with procurement, finance and HR to align regional operations with company-wide initiatives and goals.
● Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the regional and corporate operations. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be adjusted as business requirements evolve.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
● 7+ years of experience in warehouse or branch operations management, with at least 3 years in a multi-site supervisory role.
● Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive performance and foster a collaborative culture across multiple locations.
●Proven track record of implementing process improvements, increasing operational efficiency, and managing operational budgets.
●Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
●Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) like Navision, inventory control, and distribution processes.
● Knowledge of WHIMIS regulations, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
● Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively & professionally with all levels of the organization, customers, and third-party vendors.
● Ability to travel regularly between warehouse locations across the country, approximately 40-50 days/ year.
● Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
