In this role, you will be responsible for providing the support required to Line Management and the SHE (safety, health and environment) Business Partners within our New Zealand & Fiji branches. An important part of the role is building and maintaining internal and external relationships and working in collaboration with other functions and various internal managers to deliver exceptional safety and environmental performance.
This role is about maintaining a positive safety culture and providing support to all levels of management. You will manage, coach and support the SHE Business Partners, so that they can execute their SHE responsibilities in line with the Rentokil Initial SHE Management system and obligations set out in New Zealand and Fiji’s legislations.

In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement and maintain effective SHE management systems to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, Rentokil Initial group / divisional policies and procedures.
- Consult and provide sound advice on all SHE matters to the senior leadership team
- Provide guidance to direct reports and create an engaging culture based on service, teamwork, relationships and responsibility.
- Implement and maintain an effective SHE performance review and improvement planning process at the business unit / branch level.
- Maintain an effective working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, company requirements, guidance, and best practices.
- Implement and maintain company-approved risk assessment processes to ensure that generic and site-specific risks are identified, assessed, and controlled
- Provide support to SHE Business Partners and line managers to ensure that accidents, incidents, and work-related cases are reported and investigated in accordance with the SHE Management System reporting and investigation procedure
- Support the implementation of SHE processes, procedures, risk control measures, and associated documentation
- Develop and implement the delivery of SHE learning programs to ensure that all employees have the required knowledge, skills, and training to competently perform their work in a safe manner.
- Prepare and communicate accurate SHE reports for the management team(s), including compliance
- Develop and implement SHE annual operating plans
- Collaborate closely with internal departments where SHE is an integral part of the process
To succeed in this role:
- You will be passionate about promoting a Health, Safety and Environment culture
- You'll have sound Health and Safety knowledge and experience in a management role
- You will have Health and Safety qualifications/and or certification
- Knowledge and experience of ISO Accreditation Systems and auditing
- You'll also be a confident communicator who has the ability to communicate with a diverse internal and external stakeholder base
- You will have a high standard of personal presentation, a desire to succeed, strong organisation skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); persuasive with the ability to positively influence / inspire directors and managers at all levels
