RI Track Spray (formerly GTE) has been an industry leader in rail vegetation control for over 25 years.
We are looking for Weed Spray Technicians who are looking to upskill within the rail industry and obtain Protection Officer and Track Vehicle Operator qualifications across our many client networks.
We are looking for someone who is a natural-born problem solver, has a strong can-do attitude, and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work.
As a Track Spray Technician, you aren’t just "spraying weeds" — you are helping maintain the safety, reliability and integrity of Australian rail corridors.
This is a dynamic role that involves operating specialised machinery, driving long distances and working autonomously across the diverse landscapes of Western Australia, New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia and Victoria.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and the lifestyle of working away from home. You will need to be a natural problem solver, have a "can-do" attitude and demonstrate a rock-solid commitment to safety.
Ideally, you will have the following licences and skills:
Because we operate in high-safety rail environments, the following are desirable:
- Licence: Current HR Class Driver’s Licence.
- Safety: Construction White Card and the ability to pass a Cat 1 Rail Medical, including Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Rail Experience: Valid RIW card. Arc Infrastructure and PTA accreditation is desirable.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using tablets for documentation, reporting and databases.
- Fitness: Physically fit for outdoor work and comfortable driving long distances.
- Herbicide Experience: Experience in vegetation management or herbicide application is desirable but not essential.
Benefits
- Highly Competitive Pay
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 80 hours per fortnight.
- Paid Christmas Shutdown: Enjoy the holiday season with a fixed, paid shutdown — no need to use your annual leave balance.
- Zero Out-of-Pocket Travel: When working away from your home base, RI Track Spray covers your accommodation and food.
- Tech Allowance: Your personal phone bill is covered during your 6-month probation period, followed by a company-issued phone. A tablet is provided from Day 1.
- Fully Funded Training: RI Track Spray funds 100% of your training, allowing you to obtain multiple high-value rail qualifications and certifications throughout your employment.
