Job Summary
This role will actively manage their respective product(s) throughout
the product life cycle. He/she will work closely with IT PMO, business
partners, and others in IT to provide quality digital solutions to meet
business needs. The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring that
products meet business and user needs, are delivered on time, and
within budget.
Key Performance Indicators
● Product delivery metrics – (velocity, code coverage, code stability,
vulnerability, actual security incident, defects, etc.)
● Service level performance metrics – (reliability, availability,
maintainability, etc.)
● Problem resolution & RCA
● Time to Market – The speed and efficiency of the product
development process.
● Satisfaction of the product's users with its features and
functionalities.
● Quality of the product, including its reliability, usability, and
performance.
● Satisfaction and engagement of the development team with the
product owner's leadership and management style.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
● Define and prioritize product features and requirements based on business and user needs, market research, and feedback from stakeholders and end-users.
● The active management of a product or service throughout its lifecycle (inception through to retirement) including Product Roadmap Definition and Product Boards.
● Develop and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
● Prepares for and participates in the PI planning event and supports the Director / (Sr) Manager of Digital Products and other POs as a member of Product Management.
● Supports the team in estimating features (Points per Sprint vs Capacity) and setting sprint priorities (from the backlog).
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, quality assurance, and project managers, to ensure that product development is on track and meets quality standards.
● Ensures the team's compliance with RI business processes and policies, especially the development process and the life cycle management process.
● Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels, ensuring that organization policy and strategies are adhered to. Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding.
● Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and end-users, providing regular updates on product development progress and soliciting feedback on product features and functionality.
● Is responsible for Support Services and maintenance of the product(s) including application support and end-user support.
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, vendors, and other industry experts.
● Monitor product performance and use analytics and other metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
● Drives quality delivery of product releases (User Experienc, Functional, Performance, Security)
● Ensures team time management and recharge accuracy
● Fosters team cohesion, line management, communication and learning.
CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience
● 5+ years of experience in IT product management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering products on time and within budget.
● Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
● Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Has a deep practical understanding of the activities of the employer or client and is able to demonstrate the importance of product profitability within the business.
● Able to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders given the agreed product strategy and plan.
● Understands the principles of business and markets and has experience in relevant business sectors.
● Experience with software development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
● Has a thorough knowledge of how to make and sustain a business case (the benefits that will be delivered, the investment cost, and the risks involved).
● Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of the organization’s business environment, culture, policy framework, organizational relationships, business processes, and reporting procedures.
● Displays good interpersonal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations, demonstrates the ability to listen and influence, and relates to customers in their own language.
● Understanding of software development principles and technologies, with the ability to work closely with developers to ensure that products meet technical requirements and standards.
● Uses a high level of technical understanding to interpret technical issues for the business and sustain credibility with IT

● The Product Owner must have a clear vision of the product and its goals. They should be able to communicate this vision to the team and inspire them to work towards achieving it.
● Product Owner must understand the needs and expectations of the product's target audience. They should be able to translate these requirements into features and functionalities that the team can develop.
● Product Owner must be able to make quick decisions, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
● Product Owner must be able to work collaboratively with the development team, stakeholders, and other departments within the organization.
● Product Owner should have a long-term strategic view of the product, considering the competitive landscape and potential future developments.
Formal Education, Qualifications, or Training
BS/BA in Business, Computer Science, or a similar technical field or equivalent experience
