L&D Program Leader manages, leads and executes design, development, implementation and evaluation of complex training curricula, materials, and programs to meet strategic organizational initiatives and objectives. Manages relationships with business partners and clients; mentors peers. Monitors and appropriately adopts emerging training and development trends and standards. Develops assessments and evaluations and analyzes results to determine learning effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of programs and solutions.
Key Performance Indicators
Designs, delivers and evaluates e-learning courses, workshops and other training and support materials.
Facilitates training including virtual instructor led (VILT) and in-person (ILT).
Analyzes assessments and evaluations to identify trends. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to address trends.
Increases enterprise-wide learning ROI
Supports the learning intake process to include developing proposals and engaging internal Career Management and Learning and Development SMEs.
Manages eLearning content in our Learning Management System (LMS) to reflect current product/service offerings, and policies/procedures.
Develops and sustains relationships with company-approved learning vendors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Collaborates with HR, Learning and Development and Career Management leaders and other key stakeholders to understand their learning and development needs and recommend and deploy effective solutions.
Assesses and identifies development needs; recommends learning and development interventions to drive individual and company-wide capability and performance improvement.
Leads and executes the design, development, and evaluation of complex training curricula, materials and programs using adult learning theory, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and maintaining high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery.
Leads multiple L&D projects of varying complexity simultaneously through all stages from Business Case to Closure.
Develops learning assessments and training evaluations for learning content, delivery, activities, engagement and outcomes. Uses metrics to validate knowledge transfer and return on investment.
Develops and implements a comprehensive communication strategy for development programs.
Monitors emerging training and development trends and standards for adoption.
Partners with the Career Management team to recommend and develop learner engagement programs and activities that enhance employment experiences.
Extracts LMS data for analysis. Provides reports on training completions, effectiveness, and other operational metrics.
Develops and updates course curricula, learner records and course pages in the LMS.
Presents ideas effectively and delivers presentations and training suited to the characteristics and needs of different audiences via virtual classroom/webinar and in-person as needed.
CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience
5+ years experience in learning project management, design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning and development projects and programs.
5+ years of professional experience actively developing learning content across multiple technology platforms (including mobile).
Experience successfully deploying e-learning projects and programs into production.
Expert in application of ADDIE and SAM learning models.
Proficient at building credible relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders; able to develop a network of supporters across multiple career disciplines and geographic locations, including frontline team members through executive leadership.
Adept at using consultancy skills to identify when training is the answer and recommending alternative solutions when it is not.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and Project Management tools and methodologies.
Proficient in use of e-Learning software & LMS services such as Gomo, Articulate, Vyond, Camtasia, Moodle, or similar technologies.
Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics
Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, and of a wide range of learning methods, techniques, and formats. Stays informed on the latest trends in learning technologies.
Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up).
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, and managing to project due dates.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen.
Adherence to industry best practices and standards when developing learning and performance solutions.
Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Business, Project Management, or related field.
