Key Relationships: Fleet Director, ELT and senior leadership within the organization (Operations, Finance, HR)
Job Summary:
This role is to lead and manage the daily responsibilities and activities of the fleet department for all North America lines of business. Primary duties include managing and leading processes for the continuous improvement of the operations and customer experience. The North America Fleet Director will supervise and provide recommended courses of actions for process improvement, vehicle selection and up fit configuration and more.
Key Performance Indicators:
>20,000 vehicles
Fleet Management Spend + leasing $500m over 5 years
Fuel $575m over 5 years
Maintenance $200m over 5 years
Ensuring the Fleet operations matching business needs (operations, sales etc.) to include appropriate vehicles in term of features and cost
Overall TCO (to include up fitting to meet needs of business, fuel, maintenance etc.)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with the North America Fleet Director to understand company goals, support and create department visions, strategies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to contribute to the achievement of goals.
● Lead the development, evolution, and implementation of the strategies and tactics necessary to deliver the ultimate Rentokil North America Fleet experience to our customers.
● Determine an appropriate structure within the fleet services operations and provide oversight of the operations.
● Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure an optimal fleet experience for field operations and customers.
● Supervise and collaborate with field operations members and third parties to maintain a clear view of current and expected fleet demands.
● Supervise the designing, documenting, and implementing workflow process intended to maximize resources, facilitate personnel development, ensure department stability, and deliver great customer service.
● Ensure the Fleet team is advised and capable to operate effectively.
● Direct the daily responsibilities and activities of the:
o NA Fleet Administrative Support Manager
o Fleet Administrative Support Professionals.
● Work collaboratively with the Fleet Manager to standardize and streamline the Rentokil
Department of Transportation (DOT) Process
● Develop, review, improve and implement Fleet processes including:
o Strategic planning with Fleet Management Companies (FMC’s): Wheels, Element & JPL
o Vehicle fleet asset management and replacement planning
o Fit-for-Purpose vehicle standardization
o Streamline and standardize the vehicle ordering process, both bulk and periodic
o Vehicle tracking process from order to delivery
o Third Party Fleet Management APP’s review and implementation (Wheels, Element & JPL)
o Fleet Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Budgeting process
● Execute strategic planning to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the Fleet department’s financials:
o Review and Final Sign off on monthly Invoices
o Review and approve Graphics and corresponding Purchase Orders (POs)
o Propose and support PO Requests
o Capital Project submission and tracking
o Analysis and communication of “Ad hoc” requests
● Operate within the annual CAPEX and Acquisition budget parameters set by the broader business.
● Identify alternative options and operational efficiencies to improve profitability, through cost reductions.
● Analyze performance metrics reflecting work volume, trends and service levels of services operations.
Develop and refine existing Fleet Department Policies, Procedures and current guidelines.
● Regularly update and establish new policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fleet services operations.
● Maintain advanced working knowledge of existing technology systems, company processes, and inter-departmental dependencies necessary to complete the work.

Required Experience
5+ Years Fleet Management or Purchasing Experience

Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, or related Sciences

- Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

- Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
- Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.
Incumbent is required to have:
- Close visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.
Incumbent will be subject to:
- Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
